Maladignia's blog
Sitting cat Welcome to my home-cooked journal.
Here you will find my rants about every day life and things that keep me busy.
In the past I have frequently written, but there's no saying if I'll continue on that path. It all depends on how busy I am.
Have fun reading my scribbles.
Elf Fantasy Fair

Last weekend was the 6Th Elf Fantasy Fair and this time I went with the Evolution Events crew.
We had gotten a stand from the Fair in exchange of some animation and we were only allowed to hand out flyers passively. That is to say: put them on a table and hope that someone will take one with him.
But we weren't there to haul in lots of fresh blood. We were mainly there to have a good time together, entertain the public and show the LARP world that we exist and what we do.

Saturday was a bit disappointing. The weather was being stupid and cloudy so we were all cold. And we weren't really organized in the who-goes-shopping-when-thing. But we managed.
Sunday was much better. We did a lot of animation, the sun was shining most of the time and life was reasonably good.
We were a Victorian theater group and we did a couple of on the fly plays. With Karijn and Olga as writers it became a very rhetoric piece.
The organization of the Fair itself sucked. But well... something had to go wrong, right? ;)

Yesterday evening we had another EE meeting at Karijn's place, but it was a bit chaotic because there were kittens. Cute little fluffy squirming kittens. :)

Next weekend is our sewing weekend. We will be making costumes for Exodus and talk a lot, get to know each other even better. Make some props and stuff.

In other news: 11 people have now filled in my questionnaire. Thank you very much! I could still use more input though, so feel free to help me with my graduation. I've got a Dutch version and an English version. Even if you don't have a weblog you can help me.
I really should get to sketching now, since Tom wants to see some sketches next Thursday. It messes up my planning a bit, but I think that won't be too much of a problem yet.

Questionnaire for my project

I have now made a 9-question questionnaire, which can be found here on the (Dutch) questionnaire page.
I also have an English version.

I'd be very grateful if you'd answer all the questions on one of those pages. It would help me in my project. It's anonimous and will take about 15 minutes if you're a serious thinker. ;)

Please only fill in one of the pages, and only once.

If you have comments on the questionnaire itself, you can tell me so here on this blog.

Yay! A project!

Thanks to Julius I now have a project! You can read all about it on my projectblog. I've also ditched the Serendipityblog and installed Wordpress. The latter has much more and understandable documentation and it didn't need a f*cking plugin to put a few links in the sidebar.
And I did the ditching and installing all by myself! On this Linux server. W00t! I love Ninniach (that's the server, ninni for short).

Last Monday was the last time cleaning at my grandparents. Or so my grandma told me. They are getting professional help with the household. And my dad had told them that I really needed to focus on school stuff, which is true.
I still need to make a planning and work out the specifics of the thing I'm going to make. But YAY! I have a project! Finally. Now I can get on with my thesis, which should somehow integrate and enhance the project.

This is going to be (or actually it already is) a short post because in about fifteen minutes I have to go to Jazz. And I want to listen to 'our' song just before I go, to remember the steps and such.
*Dances away*

Getting a bit depressed

It's not going very well. My project, that is. I have the feeling that I've done nothing at all last week and I can't seem to get a grip on what I should be doing. It would be wise to make a planning, get to work etc. But today I had another possible project-switch. I'm going nuts!
I've set up a project weblog with the open source php-driven software Serendipity. I managed to write a first post. It's not very cheerful but it gets the situation across.

But it is always nice to get a friendly e-mail. In this case from my Czech pen pall Kristına. She sent me a really happy and enthusiastic 'thank you' e-mail for a couple of backgrounds I made for her website-in-progress.
It feels good to be appreciated. Thank you Kristına. :-)

I think I'll leave it at that for now. I could blog about the successful meeting with the EEboard, or the state of my grandparents' kitchen, which I cleaned. Or a lot of other things. But at the moment I'm in a blech state of mind, so I'll keep this post short.
