Sitting cat Welcome to my home-cooked journal.
Here you will find my rants about every day life and things that keep me busy.
In the past I have frequently written, but there's no saying if I'll continue on that path. It all depends on how busy I am.
Have fun reading my scribbles.
About pirates and family

Short account of the last week:
Tuesday evening at 19.30 'Matthijs and I decided to go to Pirates 3: At Worlds End, which started at 20.00. We quickly got the free tickets that were my company Christmas gift of last year and went to the CineStar.

Although the movie wasn't as funny as part one, it was still worth seeing. And yay for the not-ultimately-happy-ending!! There was some tragedy in it! Visuals were great too, and we had a nice evening.

Thursday my mother got surgery on her right hip. The procedure went well, though it took longer than planned.
That day Matthijs and I both went to Amsterdam forwork to have a meeting with all tech people (which is 4 of us). There's a new project coming up and it is immense. People wanted to know if we could manage it for September. Well, let's just call it a challenge, shall we?

Yesterday I went to Deventer in the morning to ride with my uncle to Gent, where my mom was hospitalized. She seemed her optimistic, happy self. She wasn't in much pain anymore and the pain that she felt would heal (like worn-out bone will not). We stayed a couple of hours and then went back for the trip Gent-Deventer takes about 2,5 hours. My mother was transferred to a care-hotel that afternoon where she will receive intensive revalidation.

Got a ride from my aunt from Deventer to Ermelo where I was just in time to say hello and bye to my father who went to see his parents. My grandfather (83) is getting demented, and it is going fast. The problem is that he is aware of it and gets angry. He has (verbal) fights with my grandmother, for whom this is also hard of course.

On the one hand I have the feeling I should visit my grandparents, before it is "too late", on the other hand I think that it would seem forced, since I have never been close to my grandparents. My dad advised me to just be me, but once in a while call or send a card to them.

My dad is visiting my mom today, so I have the house to myself. I'll have to walk the dogs this afternoon and then I'll spend the rest of the day reading. I'm trying to finish a book of 880 pages, before Matthijs gets through his last 2 chapters. I'm halfway there.
This evening we will return to Enschede in my mother's car, which I can use for as long as she is not allowed to drive. And then a new week will start.
