Sitting cat Welcome to my home-cooked journal.
Here you will find my rants about every day life and things that keep me busy.
In the past I have frequently written, but there's no saying if I'll continue on that path. It all depends on how busy I am.
Have fun reading my scribbles.
Weekend and Within Temptation

Last weekend was filled with cake/pie, humor, dirty talk, cozyness and singing; the Musilon study weekend!

Had a bit of a fright on Friday with my car; something started making a squeeky noise when I hit the gass (probably V-snare if I have to believe all the 'experts') when I went to pick up Alexander to do the groceries. After a quick call to Rob to check if he could backup the grocery planning I did a round with the car around the sport fields on the campus and suddenly the noise was gone. So we decided to do the groceries anyway and then head for Holten to 'our' location.

It is tradition to make and bring cake/pie to the study weekend, but last times it was a bit disappointing so we had promoted it heavily. And behold, about 9 pies! Yumm! After a macaroni evening meal on Friday we did a bit of rehearsing and then played games. Renske had brought 'Stef stuntpiloot' and nearly everybody played it during the weekend. Halli Galli was a good one too, and Fluxx.

On Saturday we did some more rehearsing in the morning and had a workshop from Rogier in the afternoon. It was about listening to eachother. This was the same exercise but with 150 people at a festival. No conductor, no sheet music, just listening to and following your fellow singers. Very impressive. Very much fun to do as well.

We had a bit of a power problem with the gourmet on Saturday. Took us some 5 or 6 tries to get all the gourmet sets working without power outage. After that we did some freestyle singing and started the night game. It was a very good game this time with a lot of small puzzles that led to clues to cross off people from the 'smoelenboek' who had not committed The Murder. (Like the game 'Wie is het?') I was in the winning team with Alexander, Sandra and Michiel. My pandora experience and Alexanders nerdyness helped a lot.

On Sunday we had a short rehearsal because everybody was worn-out, cleaned up the location and went home. I cleared away my stuff, cuddled with the cats and talked with my brother who just walked in behind me (to take care of the cats, he's our cat-sitter). Then decided that I felt like baking 'pepernoten' and did so. Picked up Matthijs from Hengelo station - he came back from Lextalionis VI - and had a relaxed evening.

Monday was work and more singing with Musilon in the evening. Tuesday was a check-up visit to the dental hygienist and Within Temptation in the evening. We went to Apeldoorn to eat at my mom's place and then went with my mom and her girlfriend to the Orpheus theater. We were seated in row 5, in front of the stage so we had a very good view.

I was very impressed. Sharon hit nearly all the notes (the lower ones were a bit difficult) and even though she tired noticeably (to me) in the end, she gave a lot of energy. Good sound, good songs, good singing and very cool presentation with projections on a transparent 'wall' halfway the stage. We had a good evening.
