Woohoo! Going to a balfolk workshop tomorrow and a ball in the evening. Sinterklaas at Harderwijk has been postponed till the 11th of December. Main reason is that tomorrow's ball didn't have a technician yet, so Matthijs was asked. He had to reschedule some things, like Sinterklaas, and has spent this week driving around picking up equipment. In exchange we both got invited for the workshop, which was officially full already when we signed up for it.

We'll probably be home very late tomorrow night (after coming from Utrecht and then delivering lots of the borrowed equipment at various places) so we'll spend the Sunday sleeping in and in the afternoon/evening I'll go to Marcel's (ex-Musili) place to celebrate Sinterklaas with some more ex-Musili. Matthijs, unfortunately, will not attend because he needs to focus on his graduation paper. He's got a graduation date: 14th of December. Yay for that!

At the moment I'm overflowing with sewing-inspiration, but alas there's still much junk from Lex in the sewing room. I want to make a new balfolk outfit, a new belly dance outfit, finally work on a winter coat (not the same pattern as the autumn coat because that pattern just sucks. So does the finished coat unfortunately), a new skirt and, and... more!

Still need to make a poem or other accompaniment for my Sinterklaas present for this Sunday though. And it's a workday today, so back to work.

It's been a productive weekend. Although I didn't get around to all the sewing projects that I have lying around or am planning, I did finish up some long-due things.

• Finally painted the frames for the pixel-art projects of our two kitties. So now they are framed, we still need to put them on the wall though.
• Sanded, grounded and started painting the new to-be laptop stand. It used to be a side-table at Matthijs' mother's home and it was an ugly light blue with lots of dents and scratches. I bought my first powertool for it: a sander. (All other power tools in this house are Matthijs's. I did use his belt-sander first.)
• Cleared the hobby room of some mess and vacuum cleaned the house.
• Went to De Slegte to sell a book of which I had found a different version that does match my collection. And found two other titles of the same series! Yay!
• Got me a pair of dress guards for my bike and made canvas coatings for them. I do not trust the plastic to hold out very long, so the canvas coating is to both protect the plastic and to give protection when the plastic might break. It's a very bright ugly orange, but it will work and it makes me better visible at night.

Hmmz, after summing it up it doesn't look like much. However, it gave me a feeling of satisfaction about the weekend and it gave the kitties a (misplaced...) feeling of abandonment according to their mewing on Sunday evening.

Next weekend we'll be helping to clear/clean the house of Matthijs' grandmother and on Saturday we'll drop by at my father's house for dinner. Last time we saw him was in July for my birthday. The weekend after that is not quite decided. On Friday Matthijs will attend his father's birthday but I'll pass. On Saturday evening we'll do Sinterklaas at Matthijs' mother's place. Saturday afternoon there's a nice balfolk workshop in Utrecht, but whether we go there depends on the preparations for Sinterklaas and if Matthijs wants to go to the 'HCC-dagen'. Sunday is for sleeping in late and perhaps a balfolk at Wageningen.

Still no plans for Christmas. Matthijs will be away on the first day of Christmas to his mother and perhaps the second day to his dad. From 'my side of the family' there are no plans yet. Perhaps I'll invite my brother to dinner on the first day, he isn't planning anything yet.

P.S. The extraction of my top right wisdom tooth went fine. It bled a couple of hours but two days later it felt like nothing had happened. The singing of the solo went ok too. I received compliments for my performance. I do need some work on the singing techniques but that was to be expected, why else would I attend this course?
