Maladignia's blog
Sitting cat Welcome to my home-cooked journal.
Here you will find my rants about every day life and things that keep me busy.
In the past I have frequently written, but there's no saying if I'll continue on that path. It all depends on how busy I am.
Have fun reading my scribbles.
Creativity galore
Closeup of watercolor of a sparrow

I finally found some time to get my 'creative juices' flowing again. It feels so good! People should have/take the time to do the things they really like to do more often and the world would be a better place.

This was a long term project. I worked off and on on it: the pimped chandelier for the garden. I got the chandelier from Matthijs' mother (who got it from a friend) and I decorated it with (seed) beads and colored pieces of glass.

Then we have all the wool dreads I've been making. I have no picture of that but suffice to say that sometime soon I'll need to make/find a place to display them because they get all tangled up in the drawer I keep them in now. Yay for hair extensions!

There's also some smaller but not less satisfying projects like some sun pyrography, my first pyrography project with an actual wood burning tool, Gaia themed snail earrings and pimping a very ugly candelabrum.

My latest work has been watercoloring with these nifty watersoluble artists' crayons that I got ages ago from my parents. It has been years since I've drawn more than just a doodle and I am so very pleased with how these birds turned out! Here are my reference pictures: the sparrow and the blue tit.

One extra day of weekend is really lightening my mood. I still don't know what I want with my life, but at least I feel better and it takes less effort to cope with work.

Other cool stuff: I'm reading 'The hunger games' by Suzanne Collins and today all three books arrived. The first two I borrowed from a friend from Amersical. She's still reading the final book and after her another friend will borrow it. So I would've had to wait like forever (oh exaggeration) before I could get the third book. I thought ordering would be faster, and it was. The books are worth having anyway.

The back yard is kitty-proof. They can even stay outside without us watching over them. The first wall in the attic is finished plaster-wise. We need to sand it down a bit to get some bumps out and then of course paint it. We're probably going to paint it boring white but we'll add a climbing rose silhouette around the door to the back room. The back room walls unfortunately still need plastering. It's a hell of a job, but with practice we're getting better.
