Sitting cat Welcome to my home-cooked journal.
Here you will find my rants about every day life and things that keep me busy.
In the past I have frequently written, but there's no saying if I'll continue on that path. It all depends on how busy I am.
Have fun reading my scribbles.
Exam, Sinterkerst, Cats

So, had taekwondo exam on December 8th. The words went perfect, no hesitation and no mistakes. But the taeguks were crappy. Normally I'm good at them, style is my thing contrary to the free fighting. However, they went shitty enough (I blame the nerves) to start doubting about my pass. I did pass the exam though, and I 'skipped' yellow-green and went straight to green. I have in one year passed 4 grades.

Musilon SinterKerst on Friday the 12th. A cozy business with lots of chocolate, pepernoten, chips and presents. I got a Mushabelly (beware of that site...) duck and Kris got my present: a teapot, a tea-towel and a coffee mug. We played SingStar and talked a lot. It was 02:15 or so when we went home.

Not so smart, since on Saturday we had to be in the Vrijhof at 10:00 for Mozart's Requiem. We didn't practice at home, but rehearsed the whole day and in the evening the performance went rather well. Though there were still some leeeeeeee-ee-e-e--e-e-e-e's that were too hard to keep up. It's a very complex piece, but I think we did well and it was a cool experience. Went to Rob's birthday party after that, didn't stay long due to exhaustion. Went home about 01:00/01:30.

Had a sleep in on Sunday. I got out at 11:15, Matthijs at 12:10. Had a relaxed breakfast in our pyama's. While Matthijs was vacuum cleaning, I cleaned out the fridge, micro-wave and oven. Matthijs also installed the cat-net on the balcony and we cleared up the mess a bit and let the kitties out. They took a long time to explore the new 3 square meters. While Matthijs was fixing my mom's PDA, I worked on my dress. It's in one piece now, I need to attach the facing, the sleeves and then hem everything. Then next up is the skirt for under it. (The front of the dress will be lifted so the skirt underneath shows)

The cats are now on a Carnibest diet, which is natural food for carnivores like dogs, cats and ferrets. The kitties love it, even Lina now mews when she gets her food. Unwanted behaviour, but it illustrates their love for the stuff. It's more expensive than the AH dry cat food, and it is only distributed at limited places, but we'll take over the old refrigerator of my dad so we can keep supplies. It's naturaly food, consisting of lots of meat and little carbohydrates and preservatives. The vet wanted us to switch to a dry food that was specifically for sterilised cats, but that would've been more expensive and only available at the pet store (which is in town) or at the vet's. And there would still be preservatives and other shit in that, so we switched to Carnibest instead. The cats now poop less and I think (or imagine) that Melisse has stopped loosing as much hair as she was.

I'm afraid I'll need to make an appointment with the ocularist again. My prosthesis is annoying me, giving me a 'leaky eye' all the time. I think it needs a bit of polishing. Or perhaps I need a complete new one. This one is from December 2004. But the ocularist works in Den Haag/Amsterdam/Leeuwarden which are all way too far from Enschede to my taste. She used to have a practise in Amersfoort, but that closed in 2005. Ah well.... it's only once...
