Maladignia's blog
Sitting cat Welcome to my home-cooked journal.
Here you will find my rants about every day life and things that keep me busy.
In the past I have frequently written, but there's no saying if I'll continue on that path. It all depends on how busy I am.
Have fun reading my scribbles.
Long time no talk

It's been quite a while since I have blogged. It's been a busy period, with lots of work related stress, obligations towards Musilon, visits to EE-ers, my mother, an anniversary concert, Taekwondo exam (yellow belt now) and in between planning and working on a costume for the Summoning.

Well, so far for my update. ;-)

The anniversary concert was a big succes. Tickets were sold out and we even got a standing ovation. Not all songs went well for me. Somewhere I got a thingy in my throat which made it hard to get to the high notes, and 'Bess' has just always been a problem for me. But apparently the audience liked it all well enough.
It was also the last concert with our conductor. Tom is leaving Musilon after 18 years. We gave him a hoard of presents and sang a farewell song for him.

Had an 'ALV' and 'slotavond' the Monday after the concert, needed some preparations of course. But it was nice and people had a good time. Now we only have 1 more rehearsal before the summer holiday and the trip to Spain where fourteen of our choir (including myself) will be attending the Singing Week.

Taekwondo season has ended for me as well, with an exam at the 11th of June. I was a bit nervous, like always, but it went really well. The hardest part was the theoretical examination: giving (and sometimes showing) the Dutch meaning of the Korean words. Normally you go from white belt to white belt with yellow 'slip', but I skipped that and went for the yellow belt instead. With 9 years of kempo which is, like Taekwondo, just 'another kind of karate', it isn't all too hard.

Matthijs and I are probably going to take a kitty (or two). We've ordered two books about the keeping of cats and we already picked up a cat's box at Matthijs' parents. We still have to make the house a bit more inviting and save for kittens, and then we will have to find a period of time in which we can spend some time with the little fluffballs. And then we'll buy them from the animal shelter. We'll be prepared.

So, now back to work. Lot's of things to do...
