Sitting cat Welcome to my home-cooked journal.
Here you will find my rants about every day life and things that keep me busy.
In the past I have frequently written, but there's no saying if I'll continue on that path. It all depends on how busy I am.
Have fun reading my scribbles.
Weight loss

Hurray! This morning the scales told me that I have dropped from 84 (September 10th) to 71,5 (December 20th) kilograms. That meant my BMI going from 28,6 to 23,9! I have had one week of no weight loss at all which worried me, but the week after that I dropped 0,5 kg, so that was a relief. And this week I dropped 1,5 kilogram. This has to do with my period. It's a pattern I've come to recognize. Ah, those hormones (natural or from the pill). Hah, and I survived the first Christmas dinner (gourmet and ice desert) at Matthijs' old flat.

It is so satisfying to try on some clothes that have been hanging in the closet for a while and finding that they are almost too loose now. I need to wear a belt in most of my pants too. This weight loss is still only accomplished by keeping the calories (kcal) to about 1500 a day and keeping up my normal life style of sitting behind a computer all day and 3 evenings a week cycling to Amersical or dancing. And whenever possible I take the bike (that means nearly everything within a 15 km range of my house). Aside from that I do exercises for my arms every morning (weight lifting) and I have added exercises for my abs this week. Let's see if I can get some shape into that belly. But not too much; I think a six-pack looks ugly on a belly dancer. I am very happy with how my arms are looking at the moment (lot less wiggly and chubby) so I hope my belly will follow.

There's a whole week of temptations coming up. A birthday (bring your own food to share) tonight, tomorrow we go to my dad's to cook together, on Sunday an early Christmas dinner at Matthijs' parents. Then Monday and Tuesday a normal day. On Wednesday we go to Verik for boardgames (and Chinese food, if we decide to eat there), on Thursday (second day of Christmas) we do tapas at my grandparents' house. After that a couple of normal days again and then New Years Eve at friends in Hengelo (so happy they invited us! I had been worrying about an awfully boring evening at home) which will probably mean lots of snacks too. And in these weeks there's no dancing (but there is Amersical) so less exercise.
I don't know if it would even be possible to gain the 12,5 kg I lost in these two weeks, but I surely hope that I won't gain too much. A kilogram at the most, and even that would sadden me.

Well, I'm off again. Need to put up some Christmas decorations, work on a belly dance costume (the bra is progressing nicely! Ordered some more sequins online today), practice the choreography of my solo's, crochet some lovely snowflakes as gifts (deadline on Sunday... eek), clean the house, have lunch and prepare stuff for that birthday tonight. Perhaps squeeze in a bit of Plants versus Zombies, it's so addictive!
